Villa Akatsuki is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. Nestled amidst the white sand and mesmerizing turquoise waters, on the western coast of Koh Samui, Villa Akatsuki gives you the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. This magnificent beachfront villa offers six glamorous en-suite bedrooms, making it a magical escape for up to 17 guests.

Conceptualised by renowned architect, Riccardo Tossani, the villa plays on a harmony of modern Thai and Japanese aesthetics. It celebrates Omotenashi, the Japanese spirit of “wholeheartedly looking after guests.” Spend hours of leisure on the tropical-themed, landscaped exterior — which offers uninterrupted views of the famous Five Islands, bang in the heart of the Gulf of Thailand.

Undoubtedly, the pièce de résistance of the villa is its three-level swimming pool that overlooks the ocean. Comprising a 12.83-metre main pool, 17.96-metre reflection pool and kiddie’s pool, you’re guaranteed an unforgettable family time. Unwind in the indoor private spa, equipped with massage beds and an inviting jacuzzi. Burn off extra calories in the state-of-the-art fitness studio. Enjoy a bounty of activities like beach volleyball, kayaking and BBQ with friends.

Step indoors and you’re greeted with a zen living area. Glossy wooden furnishing, airy spaces and large slatted doors opening onto a leafy, tropical garden create a feeling of solitude and relaxation. After a long day on the beach, tuck into the media room and watch your favourite shows on a 85-inch TV, with surround sound. Other indoor activities include a table tennis, mahjong table, board games and theatre room.

Savour daily American, Continental or Asian breakfast, prepared by your very own private chef. The kitchen is modern and spacious, with a coffee maker and wide variety of teas. Kids will love the Japanese shaved ice cream maker, while adults make most of the minibar and wine fridge.

Gather around the 18-seater dining pavilion and take in stunning beach, pool and garden views. If you’re in the mood for alfresco meals overlooking the beach, that can be arranged too.

The master bedroom (a.k.a Umi/ Ocean), is located on the first floor, with a private balcony and beach-facing views. Accommodating 4 guests, it houses a king-size and two single beds located upstairs in a mezzanine. Also on the first floor, the Mizu/Water room contains two single beds, convertible to a king-size bed, and overlooks the pool, garden and spa. On the same floor, the beach-facing Kokoro/Heart room features a king-size bed and private terrace with two sun loungers. It has an attached smaller adjacent bedroom with a single bed. The Sora or Sky room is located on the second floor, complete with a king-size bed, private balcony and ocean views.

Finally, on a private floor in the Main Atrium is the Raku or Joy room. In addition to a private balcony, it has a king-size bed and loft space with two single futon mattresses. All bedrooms are equipped with comfy work desks, 42-inch televisions, security safe, mini bar, and a Nespresso Capsule Coffee Machine, to name a few. are also provided. More recently, a sixth room, Yume or Dream room, has been built on the first floor. This pool view room has a king-size bed, and is the only one with a daybed. On top of this, it has a mini-living room with one single sofa, one lounge chair, and a coffee table.

The villa promises exclusivity and undivided care through its personalised service, which includes a dedicated villa manager and concierge team, an in-house chef, a professional masseuse and night-time security. Other benefits include airport transfers and daily maid service.

• Floors: Villa Akatsuki occupies two floors:

  • Ground Floor: Main entrance, indoor living area, dining area, kitchen, four bedrooms including master bedroom with private balcony, indoor private spa, gym, TV/Theatre room, and three-level swimming pool.

  • Second Floor: Main Atrium and two bedrooms.

• Capacity: The entire villa can accommodate 12 adults.

• Living Areas: There is an open concept living area with two ceiling fans, coffee tables, and sofa. The media or theatre room has an 85-inch TB and Yamaha surround speaker system. There’s also a dining pavilion with BBQ facilities and a beach, pool, and garden view that can seat up to 32 people. It is conveniently located beside a fully equipped Western kitchen and Alfresco dining area, overlooking the beach.

• Pool: Measuring 12.83m x 3.6m x 1.5m Main pool and 17.96m x 3.6m x 0.2m Reflection pool; 6.8 x 3.6m x 0.8m Children’s pool has a shallow end for kids; The pools are set to normal temperature; There are ten poolside sun loungers, two round chairs, five parasols, and two canopy sun loungers; Pool towels are provided. There is also a jacuzzi located in the A-Spa Hot Pool.

• Dining: The in-house chef is experienced in cooking Western, Thai, European, and Asian cuisine. Special requests can be accommodated, including strict diets. All meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) can be arranged in advance. We also provide a chef shopping service and a pre-arrival shopping service with the rates: grocery bill + 20% of grocery cost as handling fee and subject to 7% VAT. Provisioning is to be paid by cash on site or by credit card.

• Kitchen: Equipped with Wine cellar, refrigerator, freezer, microwave SMEG coffee maker, blender, toaster, rice cooker, dishwasher, oven, gas stove, electric kettle, juicer, and water dispenser. Wine glasses, kitchenware, dinnerware, and kitchen basics (oil, salt, pepper) are also available for guest use as well as essential cooking tools, cutlery, and drinking glasses.

• Dining Areas: The indoor dining pavilion has a dining table that can seat up to 32 persons. The outdoor alfresco deck can seat up to 18 persons.

• Wellness: Yoga mats are available on request and the spacious garden provides a serene setting for practicing yoga. Yoga lessons can also be arranged at extra charge. In-villa treatments are available at extra charge. Guests can have 24-hour access to world class gym and facilities, complete with treadmills, exercise bike, Cable Motion Gym System, dumbbells, gym balls, and yoga mats. A-Spa with two massage beds and Jacuzzi for 6 people.

• Entertainment: High-speed WiFi throughout and a 42-inch Smart TV with Netflix streaming. Each room is equipped with JBL bluetooth speakers and Yamaha sound system. There is also a home theatre, ping pong table, and motorised mahjong table. Watersport equipment such as two non-transparent kayaks, one transparent canoe with two paddles, two water bicycles, and one paddle board are available for guest's use and swimming pool.

• Other facilities: The villa features beach volleyball, table tennis, tennis court, basketball court, herb garden, first aid kit, electricity backup generators, and credit card facilities. Every room has an in-room safe, top open safety boxes, hairdryers, Japanese-style toilet, motorised blackout curtains in all rooms (except the theatre room), universal socket with USB and C-type sockets, bedhead reading lights with USB. Wake up call service available upon request.

• Parking: Sufficient parking space is available.

• Year built / refurbished: Built in 2010; Refurbished in 2023.

• Surface total area: 3,200 sqm (land size); Total floor area: 2,400 sqm (villa size).

Weddings & Events

• Maximum number of guests: 200 guests (maximum seating capacity) or 200 guests (maximum standing capacity)

• If the guest is planning to hold an event, such as a wedding or party where any pre-planning is required, the following event fees will be applicable:

  • Villa Atrium & Front Beach:
  • USD 1,500++ up to 20 guests
  • USD 2,000++ for 21 to 40 guests
  • USD 2,500++ for 41 to 60 guests
  • USD 3,000++ for 61 to 80 guests
  • USD 4,000++ for 81 to 200 guests

• All weddings and events must be organized by a professional planner. Staff will not assist.

• Security damage deposit of USD 1,500 is refundable provided no damage is incurred.

• A cleaning fee of up to USD 350 may be charged on site in case professional cleaning will be required.

• The villa can accommodate up to a maximum of 120 guests at the Villa Atrium and Front Beach.

• A plan for the event must be submitted to the Guest Experience Specialist for approval at least 1 month prior to the date of the wedding or event. Request for entirely Terms and Conditions for Events.

• Guests are required to have both liability and comprehensive travel insurance that provides coverage, including, but not limited to, cancellation, loss and damage to baggage and other property, and flight delays. Guests should also carry health coverage that includes, but is not limited to evacuation and repatriation.

• Smoking is NOT permitted inside the villa. Smoking is only allowed outside on the grounds, where an ashtray can be provided by the Villa Manager. Shishas and Hookah are prohibited in property in accordance to Thai Government laws.

• Kindly note that we are an advocate for the prevention of cruelty and ethical care of elephants and wildlife. We do not allow nor condone the hiring and use of elephants and/or other wildlife for any events held in the villa and in the immediate surrounding areas of the villa i.e. beach.

• Fireworks are only allowed for weddings, and a permit needs to be approved by local authorities at least 2 weeks before the event.

• Sky Lanterns are also prohibited by the local government in Koh Samui.

Rate Inclusions

• Rates include Welcome drink, daily breakfast, complimentary WiFi, and services by villa team (Villa manager, villa supervisor, in-house private chef (8 am to 9 pm), housekeepers (8 am to 9 pm), a masseuse, concierge service, and securities).
• Private Chef service included. In-villa shopping: THB 300 or 20% of grocery cost (whichever is higher) + 7% VAT. Pre-arrival shopping: THB 650 or 25% of grocery cost (whichever is higher) + 7% VAT.
• A driver and car rental service is available upon request (extra charge).
• Complimentary one round-trip airport transfer.
• Additional airport transfer service is available upon request (extra charge).
• Spa treatments, massages services and additional yoga sessions are available upon request (extra charge).
• Tours and activities such as art and cultural excursions, cooking lessons are available upon request (extra charge).

Child Policy & Extra Bedding

• A complimentary baby cot and high chair is available at the villa. Other baby items for hire are baby bath, changing mat, changing table, children’s cutleries and plates, toys, and outlet covers.
• Additional baby cot is charged at USD $10++ per unit per day and additional high chair is charged at USD $5++ per unit per day.
• Babysitting service available on request at extra charge.
• Children under 2 years old can stay for free when sharing existing bedding with parents.
• Additional guests exceeding the standard villa occupancy is available at USD 180++ per adult per night (12 years above) and USD 120++ per child per night (age 3-12 years).
• Rates quoted refer to the maximum occupancy of the villa, as shown in the provided publication and invoice. The number of persons (adults and children) staying at the property must not exceed the maximum number of sleeping places indicated in the booking confirmation and reservation voucher, unless specifically authorised in writing. Exceeding the number may invalidate any insurance policy on the Property. Entry or access to the Property may be refused or limited where the number of guests exceeds the stated requirement.
